Fun Friday and Blackout Day!

On Friday, our class was so blessed to have some FABULOUS Friday guests! Mrs. Dottie and Mrs. Latane visited us and read The Legend of the Bluebonnet by Tomie DePaola. Dottie is from Texas, so she was able to share more about the legend and gorgeous bluebonnets that grow in Texas.

Friday was also Blackout Day at Glenwood. Everyone wore black to school and brought glow sticks. This is always the students' favorite pep rally because we all crowd into the gym with the lights off and turn on black lights. We had a great time!

Lately :)

We are already half way through the first 9 weeks of school!! I am so blessed to have an amazing class! I love to brag about all the fun things we do together...

On Hawaiian Day, we made edible (and healthy!) palm trees! Students used peanut butter and graham crackers to make the trunk and apples and raisins for the leaves and coconuts.

On Friday, Mrs. Heather was our Funtastic Friday guest reader! She read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, which is one of my personal favorites. She even brought crunchy, cheesy snacks...just like the book!
We have also enjoyed learning how to write our names in cursive! We practiced writing the first letter of our names by outlining it in stickers and pipe cleaners! How FUN!
